Abstract

GONZALEZ PADILLA, Roy. Foundational times of Mexican local political parties: a periodization. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2014, n.31, pp.61-85. ISSN 0185-1616.

The current political structure of contemporary Mexico cannot be understood but through an historical analysis of those who form one of its main institutions: political parties. Thereby this paper will present a brief characterization of the national democratic transition process in order to link it up with the parallel genesis of different partisan options at the local level.

Keywords : local political parties; Mexican political system; party system; historical periodization; ideology.
