This paper presents a controller called the Proportional Integral-Posicast for a second-order linear time-invariant (LTI) system. The PI-Posicast controller consists of a Posicast controller in cascade with a Proportional Integral feedback loop for a second order system. For the tuning of the Proportional Integral Posicast control loop, a study is carried out in the frequency domain using the D-partitions and σ-stability methods. This controller helps to obtain a robustness study, in the frequency domain, it is found a set of bounds that guarantee the robust stability of the closed loop system when the nominal parameters of the underdamped second order system is perturbed. The robustness of the PI-Posicast controller is validated with simulations and mathematically using closed loop system when disturbances are inserted.
