Abstract
LOPEZ SANCHEZ, Ericka. X-ray of subnational LGBT+ rights in Mexico and its approval mechanisms. Andamios [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.49, pp.361-390. Epub June 05, 2023. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v19i49.934.
From a critical approach to biopolitics, cissexism and heteronorm, an x-ray is established on the advancement of LGBT+ rights at the subnational level in Mexico. This progress has been possible thanks to the local activism that has started long-lasting struggles and that, under the protection of human rights, has found the legal resources to be able to demand decent living conditions, in addition to the fact that they have slowly been obtaining spaces within the political parties and positions of popular representation. The rights have been approved through the legislative, executive and local courts or even by mandates of the Supreme Court, which means that not all rights have the same legal status and some of them are in an incomplete category because they still require of trials.
Keywords : LGBT+ rights; LGBT+ citizenship; human rights; cissexism and rights; heterosexual order.
