Objective: to analyze the socio-ecological path of the Mujeres Cosechando group, located in San Pedro Arriba, municipality of Temoaya, Estado de México. Methodology: the ethnographic method was used to interview its members and the participant observation was used in the individual and group production spaces. Results: the agroecological practices carried out since the late 1990s and early 2000s by the women members are revealed. This study displays the plant species grown for self-consumption and for commerce in an ecological market, from which the members obtain tangible and intangibles benefits. Value: it is demonstrated that through agroecological practices during two decades women have obtained economic resources for sustenance, and that the group may be a benchmark to show the potential of agroecology. Limitations: the quantitative analysis of the inputs used in the agroecosystems and the analysis of yield and productivity were omitted. Obtaining the diversity indices for each agroecosystem was also excluded. Conclusions: combining traditional knowledge with agroecology modern technical knowledge brings economic, social, and cultural benefits.
