The Museum of Mexican Medicine is a place dedicated to the divulgation of the history of medicine especially Mexico’s history. The museum is located in the Palace of the School of Medicine in Mexico City. In this work we present the background of the Museum of Mexican Medicine, a key element of UNAM’s Department of History and Philosophy of Medicine (DHyFM) for teaching and divulgating the history of medicine. Therefore, we will indicate the background, information of its promoters, works for the museum, the origin of the museographic collection and the first exhibitions.
