Abstract

PEREZ CONTRERAS, María de Montserrat. La adopción de menores conforme a las reformas de 2000 en materia de familia para el Distrito Federal. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2004, vol.37, n.110, pp.663-707. ISSN 2448-4873.

In this essay, the author analyzes adoptions as governed by domestic law and by international instruments, with the purpose of determining whether or not both sets of norms comply with the objectives of the minor's protection and in particular, to verify it two fundamental principles are honoured: the minor's convenience with the adoption, and the superior interest of the child. In this way, the author examines the reforms of 2000 to the Civil Code of the Federal District in relation to adoption, focusing on the different types of adoptions recognized by said Code; as well as on the adoption procedures (administrative and judicial), both of national and foreign applicants. In addition, the author studies the International Convention on the Protection of Minors and Cooperation on International Adoptions, and concludes with a final reflection on the principles followed by national legislation and international norms in relation to adoption.

Keywords : international adoption; minor's protection; family law.
