Abstract

SERNA DE LA GARZA, José María. Apuntes sobre las opciones de cambio en la metodología de la enseñanza del derecho en México. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2004, vol.37, n.111, pp.1047-1082. ISSN 2448-4873.

There are important reasons that justify a modification in the methodology used in legal education in México. Social change that has occurred in the last decades and the so called legal transition, require an adjustment in the way in which the law is taught and learned. The traditional form of education has been based on the lecture, which has inhibited the use of new educative methodologies. In this article, the author examines the different options for a modification of legal education in México. In particular, he refers to active methods of education, which require both from professors and students, on the one hand, the critical examination of judicial decisions, and on the other hand, the solution of problems. The author's proposal, in the end, is that it is necessary to have a deeper knowledge of active methods of legal education, and to identify techniques to use them in the classroom, in order to combine them with the traditional method based on the lecture

Keywords : legal education; case method; problem method; legal transition.
