Abstract

CALLEJO RODRIGUEZ, Carmen. Notas de derecho sucesorio sobre el seguro de vida para caso de muerte. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2005, vol.38, n.113, pp.617-650. ISSN 2448-4873.

The increment in the number of life insurance contracts entered into, and the existence of an elevated rate of indemnities, which are even higher than the amount that would correspond to the succession mortis causa, explains the interest that legal scholars have on the study of insurance contracts regulations. In this essay the author examines this kind of contract, not only from a commercial point of view but also from a civil law perspective. Only the latter perspective allows a correct interpretation of inheritance law, its subjects, as well as the determination of the portion that corresponds to each of the beneficiaries.

Keywords : insurance contract; inheritance law; indemnity.
