Abstract

The debate whether abortion should be legalized has been a polemic topic in Mexico as well as in other countries. This paper analyzes the attitude of women that decided on abortion as an option towards legislating the interruption of pregnancy by self-decision. A survey was applied to 47 women, results show that 38.3% agreed on legalizing it, 12.8% only under certain circumstances. However 42.6% of the women considered that abortion shouldn't be legalized even thou they had experienced it. The attitude changes according to the age where the eldest the women is, the probability of supporting the legalization of abortion increases.
