Abstract

ANGLES HERNANDEZ, Marisol. Notes on the Inadequacy of Legal Regime for Hazardous Waste in Mexico. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2009, vol.42, n.125, pp.705-733. ISSN 2448-4873.

In the General Act for the Prevention and Management of the Waste (LGPGIR) are identified various needs that must be addressed, essentially, through the issuance of the regulations and the design of instruments that encourage the private sector participation, because sometimes the legislation imposes a series of obligations, whose compliance is subject to get a determined infrastructure, which is in sufficient so far. By the way, the study shows some contradictions between the LGPGIR and some regulations, which must be remedied to consolidate a genuine public policy for the environmentally sound management of hazardous waste in a context of shared responsibility toward environmental sustainability.

Keywords : hazardous waste; environmental legislation; environmental responsibility; sustainable development.
