Current policies regarding Competition Law are going through a major world-wide process of homologation, this, due to globalization, which affects to its economic entities, and the fact that their behavior has implications in more than one jurisdiction. Mexico, in the last years has been an open receiver of these influences, that have resulted in substantial changes to its policies, laws and judicial procedures. Consequently, recently there where several reforms that have transformed Mexican Competition Commission in a much more autonomous and efficient authority. Additionally, through an unconstitutionality action, Mexican Supreme Court has annulled several articles that required authorization from the Senate or from the Judicial Power to exercise some actions. The consequence of this, in comparison with current laws from other countries, is that Mexico has a legal framework at the level of the most advanced jurisdictions regarding competition law.
