Abstract

This article deals with the options to regulate the access to traditional knowledge and their implementation, especially taking into account the Venezuelan situation. In the first part of the article, some basic legal aspects are exposed. Then, the main options that have been discussed at international level and incoporated into some national and regional legislations are presented. In the last part of the article, a remarkable case taken from the Venczuetan expecience and some of its problems are explained and analysed. This alt lows us to make an assessment from a practit cal normative point of view.
