Abstract

In this study, the author analyzes some aspects of' the criminal proceeding's initial hearing, as regulated in the National Criminal Proceedings Code. The reflection focuses on three of tfie initial hearing's purposes: 1) to inform the accused of their constitutional and legal rights, 2) to judge on the legality of the detention, and 3) to resolve the request of engagement to process and precautionary measures. The scope of the referred purposes answers to their practical significance in the legal acts conforming the criminal procedure.
