A new Peruvian species of the genus Microogenius Gutiérrez (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelinae) from highlands of Peru is described, named Microogenius cashivari sp. nov. This species is recorded solely in Pasco Department, and it is likely to be endemic to this area. The individuals were collected using sweeping nets. Description, diagnosis, distribution, and illustrations of the new species are provided.
