Abstract

TRUFFIN, Barbara. El papel de los derechos indígenas en la amazonia ecuatoriana. Nueva antropol [online]. 2009, vol.22, n.71, pp.115-150. ISSN 0185-0636.

This article addresses the constitutionalization of indigenous rights through the analysis of a document recounting the dissemination of said rights in Ecuador's Amazonian communities. The article explores the new verbal and written forms produced by the indigenous organizations in their workshops and from there seeks to add an expressive dimension to the theoretical frame of legal pluralism. The analysis of this new kind of ethnographical materials reveals a strong tension going through both local and state forms of regulation, and seems to express their mutual incapacities in view of the fast transnationalization of the frameworks of power.

Keywords : legal pluralism; indigenous rights; Ecuador.
