Abstract
AMUCHASTEGUI, Ana and REARTES, Diana. La voluntad de ser indetectable como proyecto de felicidad en mujeres viviendo con VIH en México. Nueva antropol [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.86, pp.35-53. ISSN 0185-0636.
The present article deals with some of the important processes which mark the therapeutic adherence to anti-retroviral treatment by women living with HIV. By way of the qualitative analysis of 21 autobiographical interviews with women using two specialized state services in Mexico our research analyzes their experience in sticking to and staying in the medical services. This is understood as practices of healthcare and managing their diagnoses. The will to remain undetectable -at the level of the viral load as well as in their physical appearance- is expressed in a “project for happiness” and constitutes one of the main motives for adherence.
