Abstract

DELEO, Camila. Labor Paths of Young Urban Argentinians: An Analysis of the Changes and Continuity in Labor Senses. Nueva antropol [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.87, pp.47-65. ISSN 0185-0636.

Along the route of youth, young people combine education, jobs, the arrival of their first children and setting up their own home, among others. These processes are connected in unique ways, involving longer, less well-structured and individualized biographic paths. Thus, the evaluations young people make about their work tend to be ever-changing and are conditioned by the dynamics of the job market, by their work experience and by their perspectives for future jobs. The present article analyzes the way in which these are modified along young people’s biographical pathways, the senses placed on jobs by young people; and the meeting of said evaluations with other elements such as education, family life, place of residence and future projects. We will reflect on the data of a qualitative follow-up panel of young people in the Northern Area of Gran Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Keywords : young people; work trajectory; job; Argentina.
