Abstract

DEL CONDE, Teresa. Felguérez: los bordes de una trayectoria. An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2000, vol.22, n.77, pp.251-262. ISSN 0185-1276.

Using the famous exhibition entitled "The Multiple Space", staged in 1973 at the Modern Art Museum, as an axis, Teresa del Conde offers a brief summary of the plastic art of Manuel Felguérez. In a very succinct, yet intense manner, the author covers the different stages through which the Zacatecan artist and sculptor has passed during a fifty-year trajectory in Mexican art. Thanks to her vast memory, Teresa del Conde has been able to utilize precise verbal brushstrokes to describe the artist's most important exhibitions and prominent works. The article also has the merit of summarizing, from an in-depth knowledge, the opinions expressed by leading critics, while also highlighting the virtues of an artist who has played such a crucial role in Mexico's cultural life.
