Abstract

CUEVA PERUS, Marcos. Clase media, poder y mito en el México posrevolucionario: una exploración. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2010, n.20, pp.105-129. ISSN 0185-1616.

The article analyzes the social and political role played by the so called "middle class" in Mexico for a little over forty years. For the author, despite the economic difficulties the country has experienced, that social group has been able to maintain its presence and influence at the national stage. Taking into account the internal movements within that group, you may find answers both, to the ups and downs of a globalized economy, as to the national policy not worry about the society it governs, therefore, the author proposes not to overlook the strategic nature that has the middle class in the field of public policy.

Keywords : middle class; Mexico; National Economy; Buying Power; Society.
