Abstract

HURTADO RAZO, Luis Ángel. The Right-wing in modern Mexico: characterization proposal. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2013, n.29, pp.89-113. ISSN 0185-1616.

Today several studies have questioned the usefulness of the terms right-wing and left-wing, to explain the various social-economic-political phenomena occurring in Mexico and the rest of the world. In the case of Mexico, in the last two presidential elections, the Mexican society witnessed the phenomenon of power struggle between the so-called Left and Right wings, this situation triggered the interest to continue the study of different characteristics for these dichotomous terms. This paper discusses the various features that bring the term Right wing and from them a proposal is made to characterize the Mexican political right wing.

Keywords : right-wing; left-wing; conservatism; Mexican right-wing; social inequality.
