Abstract

The central theme of this article is the study of the nine elections of this genre that took place this year; with the idea that they are part of an important rupture of the political system in Mexico, whose characteristics are specified through the theoretical and historical revision of the concepts that said statement contains and its particularities in the evolution of the country. The article has as its starting point the consideration that with the 2018 elections concluded a stage that was created in 1988, when the capacity of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) to control the vote that had kept it as hegemonic during eighty years nine years came into crisis.
