Abstract

GENE, Mariana. The practices, skills and codes of political work in democracy: An approach made from The Home Office in Argentina. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2012, vol.57, n.215, pp.71-96. ISSN 0185-1918.

This article examines the practices and skills among the politicians of The Home Office in Argentina between 1983 and 2007. The institution is characterized regarding its areas of activity, partners and the instruments that tend to make the Office a privileged locus for observing the political work. The paper shows the existence of common criteria and shared codes that transcend partisan boundaries and imply the practical handling of several rules. Finally, it is stated that in the context of the return of democracy to present these ties of trust and negotiation helped to seal certain rules and strengthen a way of doing politics.
