Abstract

TARDIVO, Giuliano  and  DIAZ CANO, Eduardo. Influence of Lukács on the Italian Revolutionary Movements of the 20th Century. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2018, vol.63, n.232, pp.77-102. ISSN 0185-1918.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2018.232.57925.

The aim of this paper is to delve further into the influence of the thought of György Lukács (1885-1971) on the Italian revolutionary movements of the 1960s and 1970s. We focus on the two most internationally salient movements: Workerism and the Red Brigades. As research techniques, we have used both the analysis of written and audiovisual records and an in-depth interview with Toni Negri, one of the most prominent members of Workerism. The results prove that Lukács had much more influence on the workerist thinking -more refined in theoretical and philosophical terms- than on the Red Brigades whose theoretical development proved to be very limited.

Keywords : workerism; György Lukács; Red Brigades; Italy; culture; revolution; philosophy.
