Abstract

HERRERA RODRIGUEZ, Omar S.. Karl Marx and the Colonial Question. Diánoia [online]. 2019, vol.64, n.82, pp.153-176.  Epub May 12, 2020. ISSN 0185-2450.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iifs.18704913e.2019.82.1639.

This paper is a response to two critiques developed by the postcolonial and decolonial theory of Karl Marx’s position on the colonial question:

the idea that history moves in a progressive and linear way and 2) the idea that Marx analyzes the question of the colonies from a eurocentric point of view, in order to demonstrate the limitations of both critics for the understanding of Marx’s work on this problem.

Keywords : Marxism; colonialism; eurocentrism; progress; multilineal.
