Izamal, located in the plains of the north of Yucatan, was one of the most important places in the region. Fact that we can verify for the magnitude of their buildings, as well as for the system of roads that connected Izamal with other cities of smaller dimensions. In this work I will present the preliminary result of the analysis of the ceramic material of the place. With which has been able to establish the temporality of the archaeological vestiges and to make inferences of the cultural evolution and of models of socioeconomic organization. With base in the analysis of more than 68 000 ceramic flowerpots I propose a ceramic sequence of nine complexes for Izamal. Of those which, in these pages I will present four, the ones date the nuclear area of Izamal.
