Since 1987, a detailed register of the conditions of the built environment in the northeastern area of the Petén, Guatemala, has been elaborated. The study encompasses various aspects, one of which was the compilation of the built environment of 128 archaeological sites through schematic and isometric plans/models. The methodology used for spatial analysis of the Mayan cities was based on similar works developed by several researchers. Among the results there were identified 34 different types of buildings, with 87 variants, that will help to define the architectural style of Northeastern Peten.
