Abstract

MARUM ESPINOSA, Elia  and  ROSARIO MUNOZ, Víctor. Tendencias de las profesiones del área económico-administrativa. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2001, vol.23, n.93, pp.44-58. ISSN 0185-2698.

The transformations that our national reality has undergone since the last decade of the twentieth century have generated new circumstances for the labor market of professionals who belong to the economic-administrative area; these require now a new professional profile and structural and curriculum changes in the higher education institutions whose mission is to train them. This article is about the human and technical features required by a professional worker if he wants to be competitive, and it also tries to conceptualize the structural and curriculum changes that are required to reach that new profile, taking as example the cases of the Universidad Veracruzana and the Universidad de Guadalajara. As a conclusion, the author makes a review of the new features of the professions that are most representative of the area, taking accurately into account the study programs with the greatest number of inscribed students, as well as the new professional offers within this area of knowledge.

Keywords : Professional profile; Labor market; Labor competition; Economic-administrative area; Curriculum; Professional training.
