Abstract
RIUS DE BELAUSTEGUIGOITIA, Pilar and GARRITZ, Andoni. Un programa de atención diferenciada para estudiantes universitarios. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2004, vol.26, n.104, pp.33-56. ISSN 0185-2698.
A differentiated education program was applied to the 1994 class of chemistry college students at the National University of Mexico. The intervention consisted in forming different groups, one of them with good academic background students and the other with students lagged behind, and giving both groups special attention. Statistics point out that both groups had a better performance than control students did with a similar result in the diagnostic examination at the beginning of the career. The statistical conclusions are obtained by analyzing three parameters after nine and fourteen semesters from the start: percentage of credits covered, approval index and average grade. Results were slightly better for those students lagged behind with intermediate grades at the diagnostic examination. No significant results could be obtained for the students with a good academic background.
