Abstract

MAYORGA FERNANDEZ, Mª José; SEPULVEDA RUIZ, Mª Pilar; MADRID VIVAR, Dolores  and  GALLARDO GIL, Monsalud. Level of satisfaction and professional usefulness of work experience among students in the Education Sciences Faculty of the University of Málaga (Spain). Perfiles educativos [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.157, pp.140-159. ISSN 0185-2698.

This paper follows on from a study carried out at the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Málaga (Spain), in order to reveal the extent to which graduates are satisfied with the training received during the work experience module of their degree programs. The results are presented as a quantitative-type descriptive and explanatory study, based on the survey technique. The most relevant results are given in relation to the work experience, as a module of unquestionable value for the construction of practical thinking among future education professionals, taking into account its strengths and weaknesses, and this is discussed at the end of the article. One of the study’s conclusions is that the most positive assessments made by the students are focused on aspects related to the activity of the professional tutor, on portfolios as an assessment instrument, and on the usefulness of the work experience.
