Abstract

NAVARRETE-CAZALES, Zaira. Bachelor’s degree course in Pedagogy at the Universidad Veracruzana. Origins and curriculum, 1954-2000. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2018, vol.40, n.160, pp.47-63. ISSN 0185-2698.

This paper describes the origins of the BA in Pedagogy at the Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico), and to review the study programs in 1954, 1958, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1977 and 1990, used for this course between 1954 and 2000. We based our research on two empirical reference sources: documents and interviews, analyzed from the perspective of political analysis of the discourse. The Universidad Veracruzana was one of the first public institutions to offer professional training in pedagogy in Mexico, at the Faculty of Pedagogy in Xalapa. Pedagogy began to be taught at university level in the state of Veracruz while there were tensions between the forces and tendencies of teacher-training pupils (normalistas) and university students.
