This study is the product of a cooperation between the University Bioethics Program (Spanish acronym PUB) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Master’s Degree Program in Educational Planning at the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. The goal of this investigation is to analyze the presence of bioethics in research at the UAM and strengthen academic ties in related activities of teaching, research, and dissemination. We begin with a brief overview of bioethics in higher education (HE) in Mexico, followed by an analysis of content applied to lines of research in the UAM, using the thematic lines of the PUB as categories to orient our analysis. The results are presented as a tool to orient planning of academic activities which strengthen and raise the visibility of bioethics in Mexican HE, in a joint effort between the UNAM and the UAM.
