This is a case study on the training of researchers and their academic career by means of a biographic method. The social origin of the researcher, his/her academic training and professional practice in the research area are analyzed in order to learn about their lives: who they are, where do they come from, what social processes did they experience towards the path of research and how do they experience it from a state public university standpoint.
