Abstract

SMOLENTSEVA, Anna. La globalización y la educación superior en Rusia: repercusiones para la profesión académica. Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2008, vol.37, n.145, pp.63-70. ISSN 0185-2760.

This article reports changes on the Russian Higher Education System drifted not only from the globalization process but also since the deep political transition that took place on or after the Soviet Union collapsed. There was a profound transformation on the social values that were impossible to condemn on the previous government as autonomy, academic freedom, research and competence. This item exposes the paradox among imperial, soviet and actual Russia: a real effort to maintain the traditional centralism as a form to coordinate the government system. Even though, incipient changes have been reported.

Keywords : Academic profession in Russia; labour conditions; academic plant renewal; transition; globalization; university reform; quality; centralism.
