Abstract
Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2008, vol.37, n.146, pp.41-51. ISSN 0185-2760.
The factorial structure of the Castañeda questionnaire about reading comprehension (1996) that evaluates the reading comprehension of texts in recognition levels and memorizing, was used with a sample of 187 students of newly entrance to five careers. Both sub-scales possess internal consistency. A confirmatory factory analysis allowed us to build a structural model of reading comprehension integrated by two latent variables of first order (easy and difficult assessment levels) with practical and statistical adjustment of the goodness-of-fit. We conclude that the students differ for their punctuation in the test of reading comprehension (in favor of the easy context) and for the career to which they belong. The implications are discussed for the requirements associated to the entrance to the university.
