Abstract

MARTINEZ-GONZALEZ, Adrián et al. Profile of the student with academic success in the degrees in the area of Biological, Chemical and Health Sciences. Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2020, vol.49, n.193, pp.129-152.  Epub Aug 21, 2020. ISSN 0185-2760.  https://doi.org/10.36857/resu.2020.193.1029.

Through the association between the academic performance and personal, family and socio-economical factors of the students, it is possible to generate profiles. Using the results obtained in the diagnostic examinations for admission to bachelor’s degrees that integrate the area of Biological, Chemical and Health Sciences (CBQS, for its acronym in Spanish) of the 2010 generation of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM, for its acronym in Spanish) and the association of these factors, developed a predictive model to identify the profile of students with academic success. The results reveal that the higher score obtained in subjects as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Spanish and English in the diagnostic examinations for admission to bachelor’s degrees, the greater the performance and academic success on Biological, Chemical and Health Sciences bachelor degrees.
