Abstract
DIP, Nicolás. Contemporary student movements in Mexico: research challenges on an unfinished experience (2010-2020). Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2022, vol.51, n.201, pp.87-109. Epub May 29, 2023. ISSN 0185-2760. https://doi.org/10.36857/resu.2022.201.2023.
This article aims to systematise lines of analysis and debate in order to contribute to the research agenda on contemporary student movements in Mexico. Although in recent times there have been works and compilations on these experiences, there are currently few research proposals that seek to investigate in depth and systematically the most important expressions of Mexican student activism in the last decade (2010-2020). For this reason, the article examines the progress of studies on the subject, proposes four analytical orientations to discuss the research agenda, proposes a bidirectional approach focused on the conflict-education binomial for the investigation of contemporary student movements and exemplifies it from an approach to protests against violence and recent feminist militancy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and other institutions in the country. From these orientations, the aim is to highlight the specificity of the study of current student activism in order to contribute to discussions on generational frameworks, repertoires of political action, the question of conflict and violence, and gender perspectives.
