Abstract

SEGGIARO, Claudia. Aristotleʼs Concepts of πιστμη and σοφα in Metaphysics Α-α, and their Counterparts in the Protrepticus. Nova tellus [online]. 2012, vol.30, n.1, pp.43-75. ISSN 0185-3058.

The scope of this article is to research the concept of ἐπιστήμη and σοφία in the first two books of Metaphysics, i.e. A-α, and their counterparts in Aristotleʼs Protrepticus. In the first part, we will analyze the concepts of science and wisdom in the first two books of Metaphysics. In the second part, we will track down these concepts in the Protrepticus, so as to establish an eventual set of continuities and ruptures between both works.

Keywords : Metaphysics; Protrepticus; Aristotle; science; wisdom.
