Abstract

MONTES DE OCA VEGA, Mercedes. ISSN 2448-735X.

This essay deals with general aspects and analytic issues about oral tradition in Mexico and Northamerica. Repetition, parallel structures and the use of special words are textual strategies that cannot be confined to a specific genre. In spite of the diversity of textual mechanisms, it is possible to establish some common features in prayers, songs and stories in both oral traditions.
