Abstract

CREVIER GOULET, Sarah-Anaïs. The Process of Mourning as a Paradigm of Sexual Difference?.Translated byMelina Balcázar Moreno. Acta poét [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.2, pp.13-34. ISSN 2448-735X.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.ap.2017.2.798.

In this essay, Crevier Goulet explores the relationship between the ideas of “mourning” in the Freudian sense (as the way in which the Self articulates loss) and the characteristics of sexual difference according to Judith Butler in her book Gender Trouble. Through this relationship, she observes the patterns of sexualization that are present (according to Butler) in the articulation of loss, thereby exploring the way in which sexual paradigms affect the process of mourning.

Keywords : mourning; gender/genre; sexual difference; queer theory; Judith Butler.
