Abstract

MARIN CALDERON, Norman. Poetic Act < > Psychoanalytic Act: Literature, Rhetoric, and Nonsense. Acta poét [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.2, pp.85-100. ISSN 2448-735X.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.ap.2017.2.802.

Psychoanalysis attempts to capture the subject’s desire “to the letter”: literature and psychoanalysis share the fact that both create new worlds from words. This essay articulates some points of agreement, but also of disagreement, between poetic creation and psychoanalytic production insofar as both privilege the power of language and the predicament of unconscious desire. All this is possible when they are related with some of the formations of the unconscious, such as jokes, slips of the tongue and nonsense.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; poetry; literature; rhetoric; nonsense.
