Abstract

TERAN FUENTES, Mariana. Narratives of Loyalty. Zacatecas: From the Fortress Walled by its Vassals to the Republican City. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2010, vol.31, n.121, pp.175-225. ISSN 2448-7554.

This article explores how history was used by actors and institutions in the city of Zacatecas to legitimize the form of monarchical government. It analyzes the mutations in a series of historical narratives that appeared during the transition from the old monarchical regime to the formation of the first Mexican empire and the early years of the republic.
