Abstract

PARRAL QUINTERO, Luis Enrique. Complex relationships in the mexican sugar-cane agribusiness and the contract farming at Cuautla, Morelos. Trace (Méx. DF) [online]. 2022, n.81, pp.48-70.  Epub Jan 01, 2022. ISSN 2007-2392.  https://doi.org/10.22134/trace.81.2022.799.

This essay analyzes the contract farming as regulating device of relationships in the sugar-cane production at Cuautla, Morelos. To do this, is employed the General Theory of Complex Systems and the ethnographic method of social anthropology, because both of them allow to build an ethnographic study that describe the interdependent relations network between human elements and non-human elements currents in the sugar-cane agribusiness; in such a way that the contact farming regulates the relationships between physical and social elements in this complex system.

Keywords : complex system; social relationships; sugar cane industry; contract farming; sociotechnical systems.
