Abstract

SAMANIEGO LOPEZ, Marco Antonio. Against the Mexican Liberal Party (PLM) Program: the PLM Anarchists. Secuencia [online]. 2020, n.107, e1716.  Epub Sep 09, 2020. ISSN 2395-8464.  https://doi.org/10.18234/secuencia.v0i107.1716.

The article contextualizes the reasons why PLM anarchists demonstrated against the Mexican Liberal Party Program of July 1906. From their anarchist position, they criticized the project, stating that it was not theirs and describing it as a useless, overdue document. Between 1911 and 1918, they thought its reforms were timid and more characteristic of a conservative such as Venustiano Carranza. Their propaganda involved repeatedly stating that the expropriating revolution was advancing in Mexico and that a world revolution would be achieved. In their need to attract the anarchists of the world, they described the program as stale and backward, and flawed because it was republican, democratic and nationalistic. In their writings, they repealed it and insistently urged people to fight again and again for the anarchistic manifesto of September 23, 1911.

Keywords : anarchism; liberals; world revolution; Mexican Liberal Party; mexican revolution.
