The following work emerges from the progress of my doctoral thesis where I explore the memories of those who experienced exile in their childhood, during the last dictatorships in Argentina and Uruguay. From a biographical perspective, I investigate the subjective dimension of experiences and their meanings from the present. To do this, I recover life stories from biographical interviews. In this opportunity I intend to investigate the first visits and exploratory trips to the places of origin that are remembered by the boys and girls of that time. This dimension not yet addressed, allows us to explore the meanings and nuances that these trips have and the ways in which the return has reverberated and the readings that are offered from the present about the place of the then boys and girls in the experience of exile.
