Abstract

RODRIGUEZ NAVA, Abigail  and  VENEGAS MARTINEZ, Francisco. The European fiscal, policy and current economic-financial crisis. Contad. Adm [online]. 2015, vol.60, suppl.2, pp.54-82. ISSN 0186-1042.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cya.2015.08.012.

This research analyzes the strategies of cyclical and countercyclical fiscal policy undertaken in response to economic and financial crisis in the period 2006 - 2010. Especially the criteria followed by three member countries of the European Union are contrasted: Germany, Italy and Portugal, which have different characteristics in terms of the soundness of its public finances. The research suggests that the orientation of fiscal policy guided by international organizations and authorities of the European Union could hinder the economic recovery, especially if the domestic market is damaged through shrinkage of personal incomes.

Keywords : Economic crisis; Fiscal policy; Debt; Deficit.
