Abstract

REBOLLAR-REBOLLAR, S et al. Economic optima in Pelibuey lambs fed in corrals. Universidad y ciencia [online]. 2008, vol.24, n.1, pp.67-73. ISSN 0186-2979.

The technical (TO) and economic optima (EO) were estimated during eight weeks for 24 male Pelibuey lambs (IW 20 ± 0.52 k and 75 ± 15 days of age). The TO values for feeding and number of weeks were 107.4 k and 34.3, with earnings of $718.29 and $ 1 147.61, whereas the EO values were 95.1 k and 34.26, with earnings of $ 728.75 and $ 1 148.13. The maximum live weight does not necessarily indicate a maximum net income.

Keywords : Pelibuey lambs; technical optimum; economic optimum; feed lot performance.
