Abstract

MOCTEZUMA L., Miguel. El migrante colectivo transnacional: senda que avanza y reflexión que se estanca. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.66, pp.93-119. ISSN 2007-8358.

The collective transnational migrant is defined as the organized migrant who has a certain level of association; a type of organization, therefore, superior to that of migrant networks or clubs. At the same time, it refers to formal, permanent organizational structures with negotiating capabilities vis-à-vis the state and binational recognition. Its degree of institutionalization allows it to differentiate among community, business and political activism interests. This migrant has the asset of a strategic vision that makes it a new social subject committed to social, democratic development in the broadest sense.

Keywords : migrant clubs; migrant associations; organized migrant and collective remittances; collective transnational migrant and social and regional development.
