Abstract

TENORIO TOVAR, Natalia. Rethinking Love and Sexuality: A View from the Second Modernity. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2012, vol.27, n.76, pp.07-52. ISSN 2007-8358.

This article deals with love relationships today, specifically looking at the definition of love that couples have and the way they practice their sexuality. These topics are presented by comparing couples that we could call "traditional" and others that could be termed "modern." The main objective is to show the changes, both in the discourse and in practice of these couples in what Anthony Giddens defined as the "second modernity," to analyze how we can use his theories to explain realities like that of Mexico City.

Keywords : love; modernity; Anthony Giddens; sexuality; trust.
