Abstract

STEZANO PEREZ, Federico Andrés  and  MILLAN VARGAS, Adrián Osiel. Incentives for Mexican Academics to Establish Relations with the Business Sector for Transferring Knowledge and Technology. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2014, vol.29, n.83, pp.47-85. ISSN 2007-8358.

This article discusses critically the notions of transferring knowledge and technology between the academic and industrial sectors. Based on an analysis of the views of Mexican researchers about the incentives they receive to work on technological research and development projects jointly with companies, the authors question the point of view that equates knowledge and technology transfer processes with channels for commercializing research results. Lastly, they propose a perspective that includes in their analysis the different links and motivations that influence the relationship.

Keywords : transfer of knowledge and technology; academic sector; companies; innovation; connecting channels; incentives for links.
