Abstract
GALINDO MONTEAGUDO, Jorge Lionel and TORRES CRUZ, César. Dialogue of Glances Approaching “Subwaying” as an Interactive Order. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2018, vol.33, n.93, pp.319-353. ISSN 2007-8358.
Hand in hand with the analytical tools provided by social contingency reduction theory, this article analyzes the way in which the last car of the subway train has become a place for impersonal sexual encounters or “subwaying.” By mobilizing the different social operators that reduce contingencies (communication, practical rules, and materiality), the “subwayers” [written in the feminine] have constructed an interactive order that is triply “deviant”: because it involves men who have sex with other men, because it goes against the conventional ethos of sexual relations and their personal nature, and because it happens in a public space
Keywords : interaction; sexuality; deviation; contingency; non-verbal communication.
